OPEN FACE SANDWICHES (CHLEBÍČKY)


For bread, use french bread (baguette) in order to make the sandwiches small, other breads are also possible to use but generally the smaller the slice the better looking the sandwich. Use softened butter, top with favorite potato salad or other spreads, slices of salami, egg slices, cheese. Garnish with slices of tomato, pickle, pepper, caper, parsley, lemon slices.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Slice French bread loaf (baguette) into diagonal slices. Spread thin layer of butter on one side. Top with any of the toppings suggested below, use your imagination and creativity to make your unique masterpiece!

Russian Egg: butter a bread slice, top with potato salad, hard boiled egg, halved or sliced, drizzle with mayonnaise dressing (mayonnaise with little water, whipped with a fork). Top with slices of ham, garnish.
